Management of the AlumClubs System

The AlumClubs system is operated by the software-as-a-service firm Dynaprice.com, Inc. Dynaprice has provided customized, web-based data services to Fortune 500 companies and used equipment dealers around the world since 2000. Its services help them inventory, redeploy to other locations, promote and sell surplus capital equipment to others. Dynaprice clients currently include AT&T, DuPont, Lockheed Martin, Infineon AG, and many others.

Identifying the Need

In March of 2023, Randall organized an event on Climate Change at the Stevens Institute of Technology and attracted several other alumni clubs to co-promote it to their alumni. While doing that, he discovered the "herding cats" problem of coordinating frequently changing event details with a large number of volunteer, part-time event planners in many other clubs.

The need for a better way to coordinate the process of planning multi-club events was apparent. Randall worked with Dynaprice to build a web-based data service that would make it easier to coordinate multi-club events. That service now operates as AlumClubs.org.

Operations

Originally designed to address Randall's multi-club coordination problem, AlumClubs has proven useful to other event planners as well. It has even proven useful for coordinating event planning within individual clubs themselves.

Randall has made the AlumClubs system available free of charge for use by other event planners. There is currently no legal agreement involved in its use, which is completely voluntary. Both planners and their clubs have no formal relationship with Dynaprice or Randall.
